This old apartment on the fifth floor of dreams
Has very thin walls and cracks on the ceiling
Dusty cobweb just out of reach
And every night I read myself to sleep
There’s footsteps that echoe on the streets down below
Continuous ring of an unanswered phone
Some people say this is living hell
But I cook good food and I’m doing well
And I’m anything, Anything
I’m anything but blue
Portrait of Picasso hangs on the wall
There’s fresh cut flowers from the gardner down the hall
Blue velvet curtains cover sun beaten lace
The glow from this candle brightens up the place
Theres magic that lingers like stars in the sky
I feel inspired and I don’t care why
My paint brush dances across canvas again
My imagination slowly ascends
And I’m anything, Anything
I’m anything but blue
The music rides on the midnight wind
Through my open window it’s drifting in
My soul wants to sing and my feet wanna dance
I look down to the street and it’s full of romance
And the couples kiss and the street lights shine
I take a deep breath and I’m feeling fine
I can’t forget how things always work out
You come in this world alone like you do going out
And I’m anything, Anything
I’m anything but blue
